The information contained in the Peace Registry enables people everywhere to locate organizations, projects, and individuals in their own or other communities that offer goods, services, information, or inspiration that demonstrate and promote the emergence of a culture of peace, that is, a culture characterized by such traits as cooperation, nonviolence, compassion, inclusion, and listening.

The following notes may assist you in completing the Search form:

1. You need enter only a word or phrase in any of the fields in the box at the top of the form. That is, it is not necessary to have the complete correct name of an individual, project, or organization or geographic area of service. Similarly, a key word or phrase in the Description field will find all Peace Registry entries whose description contains that word or phrase.
2. In any of the sections with check boxes (that is, Scope, Organization Type, Focus, Primary Group(s) Served), you may check any number of boxes (or none) within the section, and the search will find all entries that match at least one of the checked characteristics (that is, logical “or” within a section).
3. If you check boxes in more than one section, the search will find all entries that match at least one of the checked characteristics in each section that has any boxes checked (that is, logical “and” between sections).
4. After filling out the form, click on the Search button, and the Peace Registry entries that meet your search criteria will be shown in a three-column list. You may sort the list according to each column by clicking on the column heading.
5. To view the details of a particular item in the list, just click that item.
6. Click on Search to fill out another search form with other criteria.
